UK MPs call for more support to hydrogen road transport
UK Members of the Parliament are calling the government for more support to hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles in a report published last week by the cross-party Energy and Climate Change Select Committee on “Low carbon technologies in a green economy”.
In the report, the Committee states that it is “concerned that the Government, whilst supporting battery electric vehicles, is not offering the same level of support to hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles.” (page 42).
While London has just unveiled its Hydrogen Network plan for 2010, this report constitutes another good opportunity for the fuel cells and hydrogen stakeholders to demonstrate the importance of these low carbon technologies in a green economy and the need for governmental support.
