The second AGROLA hydrogen filling station in Switzerland went into operation recently in Rothenburg (LU). At all AGROLA hydrogen filling stations, only green hydrogen is offered, which comes from 100 percent renewable energies.

The hydrogen filling station in Rothenburg is the second in Switzerland under the AGROLA brand. Hydrogen technology offers all the prerequisites to sustainably reduce CO 2 emissions in road traffic. However , hydrogen is only CO 2 -neutral if it is produced in a 100 percent renewable manner. H. with the help of solar, water or wind energy. In this case one speaks of green hydrogen.

Only green hydrogen is offered at the Rothenburg and Zofingen (AG) filling stations, as well as at all future AGROLA H 2 filling stations. The greenhouse gas emissions caused by heavy traffic are massively reduced by green hydrogen. In this respect, hydrogen technology makes a major contribution to the decarbonization of heavy traffic and thus to the goals of the federal government’s energy strategy 2050.

AGROLA is a founding member of the H2 Mobility Switzerland association and is therefore part of a unique pioneering project. Private companies are jointly building the world’s first commercial cycle for renewable hydrogen. It includes hydrogen trucks and filling stations as well as the production and logistics of renewable hydrogen. The project was recently awarded the Swiss energy prize “Watt d’Or” from the Federal Office of Energy in the “Energy-efficient mobility” category.
