Air Liquide is a partner of the 8th edition of the RIVE (Rencontres Internationales des Véhicules Ecologiques - International Ecological Vehicle Fair), held at the Alès Cévennes racing track on July 11 and 12, 2017. This event, devoted to mobility and clean transportation, was launched in 2010 for decision-makers in the public and private sectors, and features two days of conferences and test drives of ecological vehicles, including Toyota Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles and Renault Kangoo ZE Hydrogen.
Air Liquide’s contribution to this event is a mobile hydrogen charging station that was specially designed to meet the need for hydrogen at roaming events. The mobile station will be used to recharge the five Toyota Mirai presented at the fair. Air Liquide used this same station last October to recharge the Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles that took part in the Monte Carlo E-rally.
Hydrogen is an alternative to fossil fuels in addressing the challenge posed by clean transportation and also helps to improve air quality. Used with a fuel cell, hydrogen combines with oxygen from the air to produce electricity, with water as the only by-product. Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles have a range of around 500 km.
Air Liquide masters the entire hydrogen supply chain, from production and storage to distribution and the development of applications for end users, thus contributing to the widespread use of hydrogen as a clean energy source, for mobility in particular.
