Business mobility provider brings 30 subsidized fuel cell vehicles to German roads
Unterschleißheim - Alphabet Deutschland continues to expand its offering for alternative-drive vehicles: The business mobility provider is launching a fleet of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV). The 30 Toyota Mirai vehicles will be used in the fleets of several major customers from the end of 2017 over a period of three years - especially as service and pool vehicles.
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure with more than € 500,000 as part of the National Innovation Program for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology. The implementation of the funding guidelines is coordinated by the NOW (National Organization for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology).
"Alternative drives are the future of enterprise mobility. They make a sustainable contribution to reducing CO 2 emissions in the transport sector and are increasingly in demand by our customers. Fuel cell technology represents a logical further development for us. It is another step in making company fleets fit for the mobility requirements of tomorrow, "says Tim Beltermann, Head of Sales and Marketing at Alphabet Fuhrparkmanagement GmbH.
Since 2016, the Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure has been supporting the development and market preparation of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies for use in transport with the National Innovation Program NIP II. The aim is to make products that are technically mature, competitive and expand the infrastructure for them.
