SAINT JOHN – Atlantic Canada’s Energy Leaders Have Teamed Up in an Effort to Increase Access to Clean Hydrogen in the Region

In the pursuit of regional hydrogen opportunities and to address the challenges, the Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance (AHA) has been created to support the development of an economically-viable clean hydrogen value chain that will enable the transition to a prosperous low-carbon economy in Atlantic Canada.

Colleen d’Entremont, President of Atlantic Energy said, “The Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance has been created to support the development of an economically-viable clean hydrogen value chain that will enable the transition to a prosperous low-carbon economy in Atlantic Canada.”

“Leadership from all levels of government will be very important to attract investment in hydrogen technologies. And we have been seeing tremendous support.”

Capt. Allan Gray from Port of Halifax said, “We need to start now… we have the passion, expertise and structure in place to advance the development of clean hydrogen and we’re so excited to get the important work underway.”

Alisdair McLean, executive director of OERA said, “If we’re serious about getting to net-zero, we need to get serious about hydrogen.”
