Hyundai Robotics also took to the stage today to emphasize mobility and the metaverse.  While Hyundai did not specifically name its ZEVs (zero emission vehicles), the Nexo did appear on the stage screen as Hyundai talked about where it sees mobility and robotics going (pictured below).

Part of Hyundai’s long-term goal is to create a world where zero emission transportation is as common as internal combustion engines today, but it also wants to enable people to experience what it is like to be on Mars in near real-time using robotics.  One of Boston Dynamics’ dog-like robots followed Hyundai’s Euisun Chung who is the Executive Chair of Hyundai Motor Group onto the stage faithfully, just like an organic pooch would (pictured below).

However, Bosch is also another company focused on zero emission mobility and it had the parts for a FCEV on display at its booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center (pictured below).

When asked by your correspondent at its press conference today how it sees fuel cell technology coming into play given fuel cell’s superior abilities of driving range and endurance over the course of a fuel cell’s life, Bosch had the following to say (see video below).

To be sure more happened at CES than just the above given that Panasonic also held its press conference today as well as many other organizations.  However, one theme that is becoming clear at CES 2022 is that zero emission mobility is on the radar of many companies.  Hyundai recently recommitted to a ZEV strategy that includes fuel cells, and a company like Bosch clearly wants a piece of the ZEV pie as well.  However, as CES continues to unfold it is clear that fuel cell technology is on the minds of many companies globally and fuel cell technology is beginning to enter the mainstream.

Stay tuned for more updates as Fuel Cells Works continues to trek up and down Las Vegas Blvd to continue to bring you the most relevant fuel cell coverage.
