Sydney, 04 May 2023: Pure Hydrogen Corporation Limited (“Pure Hydrogen” or “the Company”) has announced that the Hon. Adam Giles, the former Chief Minister of The Northern Territory, has been appointed to the Board as Non-Executive Director, effective immediately.

During his political career, Mr Giles also held the portfolios of Economic Development, Major Projects, Transport, Infrastructure, Indigenous Affairs and Northern Australia.

As the head of multiple government portfolios, Mr Giles initiated several majorin frastructure projects including the rollout of solar power to Indigenous communities, and the establishment of the interstate gas pipeline between the Northern Territory and eastern Australia.

With a highly accomplished political career and key project experience in the domestic resources and energy industries, Mr Giles’ skills are ideally aligned to provide strategic advice for the advancement Pure Hydrogen’s diverse pipeline of projects.

In particular, his extensive experience with major infrastructure projects will complement the Company’s existing knowledge of executing regulatory approvals, licensing, commercialising infrastructure, and permits, for its short-to-medium-term strategy of developing a network of a network of hydrogen production hubs across Australia. The introduction of Hydrogen Fuel cell Trucks and Buses (See ASX Announcement dated 18 April 2023) particular for the mining sector is something that Adam is passionate about.

In the near-term, Mr Giles’ will support the development of the Moreton Bay Hydrogen Hub (expected to be operational in 2024) where Pure Hydrogen recently secured a site and project partner, which will provide the technology for the waste-to-clean-energy facility.

In the long-term, Mr Giles will play a critical role in unlocking export projects in the Northern Territory, which is strategically located at the doorstep of Asia; a region some analysts predict will experience the highest growth in hydrogen demand.

Since leaving politics Adam has held several senior corporate roles, including a long-term engagement with Hancock Prospecting where he is currently the Interim CEO of Hancock Agriculture and S Kidman & Co. Mr Giles is also the Non-Executive Chairman at ASX-listed Locksley Resources and Non-Executive Director of unlisted Norcliffe Mining Services.

Overall, Pure Hydrogen views Mr Giles’ appointment as another step towards delivering on its goal to build Australia’s hydrogen ecosystem by becoming a utility that is the lowest-cost producer/supplier of hydrogen and hydrogen fuel cell products, such as such as prime movers, generators and waste trucks.

Chairman Ron Prefontaine, commented: “Pure Hydrogen is very pleased to have Mr Giles join the Board. We believe his knowledge and contacts will greatly assist the Company as we develop Hydrogen initiatives especially s across government, transport, energy and mining. He is very interested in hydrogentrucks for transport and his skills will be valuable addition for the Company going forward.”

Adam Giles commented: “As an early mover in the hydrogen space, Pure Hydrogen has executed well on its strategy to build a first-mover advantage within the broader growth of Australia’s hydrogen industry. I’m excited to join the Board at this juncture in Pure Hydrogen’s development strategy, where my skills and career experience are well suited to assist the Company in its next phase of growth.”

Managing Director, Scott Brown, commented: We are delighted to announce Mr Giles’s appointment to the Board of Pure Hydrogen. We believe his extensive network and knowledge of government processes can greatly assist the Company moving forward, as we embark on the next phase of our hydrogen development strategy. I look forward to working with Mr Giles as we begin to commercialise several exciting project initiatives, including the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Trucks and the Moreton Bay Hydrogen Hub.”
