The Fort Peck Tribes and the Energy Coalition have proposed a multi-billion-dollar hydrogen project in Montana.
The project, known as the “Big Sky Country Hydrogen Initiative,” aims to establish hydrogen production, storage, and distribution facilities throughout northeastern Montana.
The initiative is expected to create thousands of jobs and promote clean energy generation in the region. The Fort Peck Tribes, who have been at the forefront of renewable energy development in Montana, are collaborating with the Energy Coalition to secure federal funding for the project.
If successful, the project could position Montana as a leader in the emerging hydrogen economy and contribute significantly to the state’s energy independence and sustainability.
