Fuel cells works, Safra and Symbio Are Partnering to Manufacture 1,500 Hydrogen Buses

SAFRA has just won a tender launched by the Auxerrois Community for the supply of 5 standard fuel cell buses.

The contract signed with La Communauté de l’Auxerrois includes the supply of vehicles as well as complete maintenance.

This market confirms the position of SAFRA in clean bus manufacturers in Europe, and more particularly as a manufacturer of hydrogen buses in a market with strong growth prospects.

The market won by SAFRA comes from a public tender launched by the Community of Auxerrois, for the delivery of 5 hydrogen buses, by the end of 2020. These buses will be operated on line 1 of the LEO network, representing mileage of around 200,000 km per year. The 5 Businova will be refueled at the future hydrogen station, which will be installed in Auxerre. With these 5 H 2 buses , the Auxerrois Community thus intends to be one of the first French bus lines, exclusively operated with hydrogen buses.

The Businova hydrogen perfectly meets the needs of networks by carrying 30 kg of hydrogen to cover a range of more than 350 km. This type of vehicle is already in operation on the TADAO network, in the Artois-Gohelle conurbation, which has 6 vehicles. The electric drive chain of the Businova H 2 is identical to the entire range of vehicles already offered and the Businova hydrogen has a 132 kWh battery and a 30 kW SYMBIO fuel cell. The architecture of the Businova hydrogen provides great flexibility of use while minimizing operating and maintenance costs.

This new contract won by SAFRA comes after the latest contracts won by SAFRA in the cities of Artois-Gohelle (SMTAG), Versailles (BE GREEN), Le Mans (SETRAM) and Toulouse airport (HYPORT). This confirms the attractiveness of Businova H 2 and its competitiveness in this growing and buoyant market in the hydrogen sector.

To meet the availability requirements requested and ensure complete and efficient maintenance, SAFRA has established a partnership with a local company: HAMEL PL (Berthier group) This important professional in the maintenance of heavy goods vehicles, coaches and buses, has strong experience in ‘electromobility.
