Through this agreement, Doosan Fuel Cell will supply 240 440 kW fuel cells (total capacity of 105.6 MW) within a 37,681 m2 (approx. ) is responsible for When the fuel cell power plant is completed, it will be able to produce about 800,000 MWh of electricity per year, which can supply power to 220,000 households (based on a four-person household). In addition, it is expected to supplement the hydroelectric power generation in the Chuncheon region, which is affected by precipitation and water storage, and to significantly improve the electricity self-sufficiency rate in the Chuncheon region.
An official from Chuncheon City said, “Through this project, Chuncheon City is expected to become an eco-friendly energy production base in line with the government’s hydrogen economy revitalization policy, and further contribute to the economic development of the Chuncheon region.”
Doosan Fuel Cell CEO Yoo Soo-kyung said, “After the completion of the Daesan Fuel Cell Power Plant, which is dubbed the world’s first and largest, I am delighted that the excellence of Doosan Fuel Cell’s fuel cell technology has been recognized by participating in the world’s largest fuel cell power generation project once again.” , “In addition to successfully leading this project, we will continue to develop fuel cells, a representative eco-friendly renewable energy source that meets the government’s hydrogen economy revitalization and New Deal policies, to take the lead in building hydrogen infrastructure.”
Construction of this project will start at the end of 2022 and it aims to start commercial operation for 20 years from 2025, and the total project cost is about 700 billion won.
Meanwhile, Doosan Fuel Cell is increasing its production capacity to 275MW by 2022 in line with the growth of the domestic hydrogen industry, and is promoting the diversification of power generation models such as ▲NG ▲LPG/NG ▲Hydrogen.
