GenCell Energy Awarded Green Mobile Award for GenCell A5 Off-Grid
The unique GenCell A5 off-grid power solution eliminates the cost barriers to traditional hydrogen fuel cells to drive the green mobile revolution. Producing hydrogen on demand from safe liquid ammonia, the A5 supplies reliable, cost-efficient, zero-emission power to run the over 1.1m off-grid and poor grid telecom towers the GSMA estimates will be deployed by 2020 to connect the world’s billion underserved. Replacing today’s pollutant generators consuming $18bn diesel fuel and emitting 45m tons CO2 to the environment, the weather-independent, low-maintenance A5 ‘nano-power plant’ using one tank of ammonia keeps an off-grid base station operating 24/7 for an entire year.
“This stands out for its innovative approach on how to tackle the problem of the power supply for off-grid telecom base stations with fuel cells. A brilliant, reliable, scalable, cost-effective and environmentally friendly investment in green technologies and contribution towards the UN-SDGs”
