Moving forward with commitment and steady steps in shaping the energy solution of the future, Motor Oil and PPC, two of the largest companies in the domestic energy market, announce the establishment of the company Hellenic Hydrogen. In the new joint venture, Motor Oil holds 51% of the share capital, while PPC holds the rest 49%.

With the energy transition being a global priority, the development and implementation of projects that accelerate the “green transformation” will be at the top of Hellenic Hydrogen’s business and strategic planning agenda. In this direction, the company will focus on the development of green hydrogen production projects in Greece, in collaboration with large and experienced consulting firms, making the best use of the experience, expertise and capacity of its shareholders in the growing renewable energy production and distribution platform. It is noted that green hydrogen is expected to play a pivotal role in the efforts towards European climate neutrality by 2050 as well as the green transition of the industry.

The formal establishment of Hellenic Hydrogen is a milestone in the path towards achieving energy security and changing the energy mix towards a clean, zero-carbon future.

On the realization of Hellenic Hydrogen’s ambitious goals, Mr. Dimitris Triantafyllopoulos, who takes over as CEO, said: “The future of energy is already here. Fuel Cells Works, "Hellenic Hydrogen": Joint Venture Company Between Motor Oil and PPCMr. Dimitris Triantafyllopoulos has more than 20 years of experience in the energy market.

During his career he held various important positions for the development and implementation of a series of power generation units in Greece and abroad, while he served as Country Manager of General Electric Power Services activities in Greece and Cyprus. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of technology companies while he has participated as a speaker at energy conferences in Greece and abroad.

During the last years he has worked on the development of new activities related to clean, alternative energy sources, energy efficiency and energy management, focusing on energy transition and sustainable development.

Mr. Triantafyllopoulos is a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (School of Mining-Metallurgical Engineering) with postgraduate studies in “Environmental Technology” from the University of UMIST and in “Engineering Business Management” from the University of Warwick.
