As it announced its launch of the new Clarity fuel cell vehicle for the mass-market, CEO Takahiro Hachigo announced an update on the collaboration with GM to lower the cost of the fuel cells.

As part of this technology development partnership, the effort will include know-how to manufacture fuel cell stacks as well as the procurement of parts for the fuel cell stacks.

Honda and General Motors have been collaborating on developing fuel cell technology since 2013. Hachigo said the companies may extend their partnership to tackle the development of other technologies like electric cars and artificial intelligence.
