HPS Home Power Solutions Sees Great Interest in GLS Crowdfunding
  • NRW with the highest funding for hydrogen and battery storage in a country comparison / top funding of up to 40% for solar hydrogen storage picea

Berlin–HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH (HPS), the provider of the world’s first solar hydrogen storage system in the home, welcomes the new funding from the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia. In August 2021, the state included the guideline “Stationary hydrogen-based energy systems in connection with a photovoltaic system” in the progres.nrw funding program.

“The state government’s funding program is exemplary. In North Rhine-Westphalia, it offers financial support totaling up to 40 percent of the total investment for the solar hydrogen storage system picea ”, says Zeyad Abul-Ella, founder and managing director of HPS. “The current program by progres.nrw to accelerate the energy transition promotes both short-term storage and hydrogen-based, seasonal long-term storage. Together with the KfW funding from the federal government, this is the highest grant ever received by a federal state for our CO2-free home storage system. The state and the citizens are investing here together in an urgently needed CO2-free energy supply to protect our environment. Since the funding application must be submitted by November 20,

About picea
picea is the world’s first hydrogen-based electricity storage system for single and two-family houses. The surplus generated by a solar system on sunny days is stored as green hydrogen and made available again in the form of electricity and heat during the darker months of the year. In this way, picea achieves a full supply of CO2-free electricity all year round and also reduces heating costs. A picea system avoids around three tons of CO2 per year and binds as much CO2 as 130 spruce trees. picea has won several prestigious awards, most recently the Handelsblatt Energy Award 2020 and the smarter E AWARD 2021.

Information on the progres.nrw funding program: Stationary hydrogen-based energy systems in connection with a photovoltaic system

Funding is provided for components for setting up a stationary hydrogen-based energy system for building supply. The overall system must at least consist of a commercially available electrolyser and hydrogen storage unit in connection with a hydrogen-based energy converter (e.g. a fuel cell or a boiler) and a photovoltaic system. The funding conditions and applications can be downloaded from the following website: https://www.bra.nrw.de/energie-bergbau/foerderinstrumente-fuer-die-energiewende/foerderung-von-stationaeren-wasserstoffbasierte-energiesystemen-verbindungen-mit -one

HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH

HPS develops and produces integrated systems for the storage and use of solar energy for single and two-family houses. The Berlin company was founded in 2014 by Zeyad Abul-Ella and Dr. Henrik Colell and stands for security, independence and sustainability in the decentralized power supply. The world’s first HPS system picea is power storage, heating support and living space ventilation in one compact product. For more information, please visit: www.homepowersolutions.de
