Nexo Range Test

With the Nexo, Hyundai is expanding its leadership role in hydrogen-electric vehicles and setting standards in design, alternative drive technology, assistance systems, and range.

The Nexo fuel cell generates electricity for the electric drive through a reaction of hydrogen with oxygen. With up to 660 kilometers according to the WLTP measurement method, the Hyundai Nexo offers the greatest range for electrically powered vehicles.

This enormous range was subjected to a test: Mr. Mortimer Schulz from “solutions in energy” and Mr. Roland Punzengruber, Managing Director of Hyundai, test the 551-kilometer route from Offenbach, the seat of Hyundai Motor Europe to the Green Energy Center in Innsbruck GmbH the range potential of the Hyundai Nexo.

The test team carefully started on the A3 at a speed of 90 km / h and then increased during the journey up to a speed of 130 km / h.

By driving ahead, an additional range of 60 kilometers could be built after just 364 kilometers. The route on the Inntal Autobahn with the IG-L 100 km / h limitation naturally also benefited the test.

The test pilots arrived after 551 kilometers with a remaining range of 95 km at the Green Energy Center in Innsbruck – this results in a sensational range of 646 km!

This test drive confirms the everyday suitability of the Hyundai Nexo and underlines Hyundai’s pioneering role in the field of alternative drives.
