The new Hyundai Nexo is now available at a basic price of 57,983 euros (net) /69,000 euros (gross). The new fuel cell vehicle will be available from August 2018 in Germany.
Hyundai Motors is a pioneer in fuel cell technology and, with the compact SUV Nexo, launches its second production model with this environmentally friendly drive technology. Since 1998, fuel cell propulsion has been the basic technology upon which Hyundai's alternative, electrified models are built. The world's first series production vehicle with this technology, the Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell, has been on sale since 2013. Hyundai is currently the only manufacturer to offer all major alternative drive types: electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell power.
Markus SchrickManaging Director Hyundai Motor Germany said, "We are especially proud of the Hyundai Nexo. He proves that everyday electric mobility is already a reality today and can look good. Positioned in the popular SUV segment, the Nexo reaches a range of 750 kilometers at a stretch, generating only water vapor as its emission. With a gross price of 69,000 euros, the pioneering Nexo, equipped with the most up-to-date assistant systems, represents an attractive offer on the market"
As with the ix35 Fuel Cell, both private and corporate customers can order the new Nexo nationwide from all participating Hyundai dealers. Hyundai, as one of the leading manufacturers of alternative-drive vehicles, is pursuing the strategy of making the range of environmentally friendly and innovative automobiles available to as many customers as possible.
Environmental bonus for electric vehicles lowers price by 4,000 euros
The environmental bonus is a sales support item to boost the demand for environmentally friendly vehicles. The sale of electrically driven models as well as fuel cell vehicles can be subsidized in the amount of 4,000 euros, if they are on the list of eligible electric vehicles BAFA (Federal Office of Economics and Export Control). Half of the funding is provided by the manufacturer and the German state.
Fuel cell drive generates electricity directly on board
The Hyundai Nexo combines the practicality of an SUV with the Hyundai know-how in the field of environmentally friendly fuel cell technology. The technological flagship is based on a newly developed platform. The fuel cell of the Nexo gains the power required for electric propulsion through the reaction of hydrogen with oxygen. The Nexo not only drives emission-free, but also filters microparticles smaller than 2.5 microns (PM 2.5) out of the air with its high-performance air filter. As a result, the Nexo drives 99.9 percent of all fine dust particles from its surroundings while driving.
Hyundai calls the Nexo FUV: "Future Utility Vehicle". The Hyundai Nexo combines the practicality of an SUV with advanced electrification, state-of-the-art driver assistance systems such as the Autobahn Assistant, and an attractive Red Dot Design Award-winning design.
Hyundai's unbeatable warranty package also applies to the Nexo

In addition to the five-year vehicle warranty, the warranty package includes a five-year paint warranty, annual safety checks, and a mobility warranty that will extend to a Hyundai contractor at no extra cost, even at an unlimited lifetime long-term mobility warranty. This extensive warranty applies to vehicles sold to an end user by an authorized Hyundai dealer in Europe.
