This year, the jury has decided to award a special prize to Hyundai Motor Group for “its daring face the diversity of technologies it offers and its ability to make the mobility of tomorrow accessible to individuals”.Â
La Garenne Colombes–MAAF Assurances unveiled yesterday the results of its 15 th Auto Environment Award. NEXO, Hyundai’s second-generation mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, is a winner in the “Future Technologies” category. In awarding the prize, the expert journalists who make up the jury wanted to “encourage Hyundai’s efforts to demonstrate that today there is no single solution to the environmental and technological challenges that manufacturers face”.

MAAF 2019 Auto Environmental Award – Lionel French Keogh, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor France
A pioneer in hydrogen technology with a program launched in 1998, Hyundai is the first manufacturer to mass-produce an electric car powered by hydrogen.
With NEXO, the brand goes further with the first vehicle developed exclusively for this engine and which today displays the best autonomy of the market for an electric car (666 km, mixed cycle WLTP).
For the past 15 years, the MAAF Auto Environment Award has distinguished vehicles and technological innovations considered as the most representative efforts of car manufacturers in terms of environmental standards and sustainable mobility needs. After IONIQ in 2017, Hyundai’s excellence in electrified engines is once again welcomed with NEXO.
