LOUGHBOROUGH – Intelligent Energy, the fuel cell manufacturing company based in Loughborough, announces today the appointment of Stephen Brown into the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
Stephen will sit on the company’s Management Team and will have responsibility for the commercial strategy, sales and marketing areas of the business.
For the past two years, under the leadership of Chief Executive David Woolhouse, Intelligent Energy has established a range of standard products for automotive, MHE, construction and UAVs that have been used extensively at small scale. As volumes increase, Stephen will develop relationships with customers that enables them to benefit from Intelligent Energy’s product size and weight advantages. Stephen will also develop a service network to ensure the company’s customers enjoy excellent support in integration and use.
Stephen joins Intelligent Energy from BP where he led a group looking at green and ‘energy transition’ investments as well as scaling new technology businesses. Previously he has held senior commercial and technical roles in automotive and aerospace (focused on electrification) with Romax Technology, energy storage with SustainX and wind turbines with Vestas Wind Systems A/S and Nordic Windpower.

Stephen has advised and directed at board level numerous early stage green-tech businesses. The foundation of Stephen’s career was at the Rolls Royce Industrial Power Group, designing and manufacturing of high-speed gearboxes and generating / transmission systems.
