Loughborough, UK 6 September – Intelligent Energy and Avid EPG Group (Avid), an Australian energy solutions company, announce they will now work together to commercialise and deploy zero emission fuel cell systems to the Australian market.
Avid has initially integrated Intelligent Energy’s 800 Series Fuel Cell Modules (FCMs) into four different stationary power applications. These products were showcased by Avid at the Renewable Hydrogen Energy Conference in Perth, hosted by the Government of Western Australia on 31 August.
Intelligent Energy’s FCMs are a clean alternative to diesel generators and are zero emission, operate quietly and offer lower life cycle costs and minimal maintenance when compared to traditional generators. This makes them an ideal solution for industries that are working to reduce their carbon footprint, improve the environment and local air quality for communities where they operate.
Further to the integration of the FCMs by Avid into off-grid power products for a range of applications, they will also be a point of contact for customers of Intelligent Energy’s products in Australia. The two companies have signed a MOU to this effect.
Alistair Ball, Interim CEO at Intelligent Energy, said: “Both companies recognise Australia’s growing demand and appetite for cleaner, more efficient power solutions. Avid are leading the way in bringing clean technology to the market and it’s a great endorsement for Intelligent Energy that they have selected our fuel cell products for commercialisation in Australia.”
Daniel Blackford, Director of Avid Group, said: “We have been excited with the integration activities using the Intelligent Energy fuel cell systems and impressed with their performance. We now have utmost confidence that this is the start of a new era of zero emission technology availability in a wide range of gen-set replacement applications for Australian markets, and in our continuing collaboration with Intelligent Energy”.
