  • Hydrogen fuel cell powered drones will be demonstrated in the Drone Zone
  • Fuel cell products for a range of construction industry applications featured on customer stands

Loughborough, UK — Intelligent Energy will be attending Plantworx 2019, the UK’s dedicated working construction event with a showcase of Plant, Tools, Equipment & Services, which is set to run from Tuesday 11 June to Thursday 13 June.

The team will be demonstrating a hydrogen fuel cell powered drone in the Drone Zone and visiting customer stands to see how fuel cells have been integrated into products specifically aimed at the construction industry.

It is the first year the event has had a dedicated ‘Drone Zone’ where visitors can see some of the latest drone technology being demonstrated in the large, dedicated Fly-Zone, including Intelligent Energy’s hydrogen fuel cell powered drone.

In addition, Jonathan Douglas-Smith will be speaking at the event about the benefits of fuel cells over batteries. Intelligent Energy has the lightest, most power dense fuel cells on the market, and with three times the energy density of batteries they provide significantly longer flights, a must-have for commercially operated drones.

Intelligent Energy’s fuel cell modules will be featured on three of Plantworx exhibition stands. The fuel cell engineering company’s 801 Fuel Cell Module (FCM) has been integrated by AJC Trailers into a site welfare cabin, by TCP into a portable power generator and by Stephill into a portable lighting tower.

Lee Juby, Chief Sales Officer at Intelligent Energy, said: “We are delighted to see that three of our customers are showcasing our fuel cells on their stands. This demonstrates that fuel cells are a viable solution for construction companies who want zero emission power. Our FCMs are a versatile solution for the construction industry. They feature a compact and robust design, lower life-cycle cost than standby diesel generators, operate near-silently, and have minimal service requirements, for example just a simple air filter replacement over 1000s of hours of the product life.”

Drone flights will be taking place at 3pm on Tuesday 11 June and 11am on Thursday 13 June. Jonathan Douglas-Smith’s presentation will be at 11.20am on Thursday 13 June in the Drone Zone.
