J & K Heater Demonstrates Korea’s First Commercial Hydrogen Reformer

According to news sources, J & K Heater recently held an open house event for a demonstration of commercial hydrogen extractor (reformer) at Songak Plant in Dangjin, Chungnam.

At this event, J&K  demonstrated the first commercial hydrogen extractor, the HIIS-250 model developed as part of the national hydrogen project.

The HIIS-250 model, took two years of development and is able to produce 250 kg of hydrogen per day. Once it is installed and working the unit can supply hydrogen to about 50 hydrogen passenger cars a day.

A representative of J & K Heater said, “In preparation for Korea’s recent ban on exports from Japan’s core materials in the semiconductor industry, we will demonstrate the first demonstration of the first commercialized hydrogen extractor in Korea as an alternative to minimize dependence on Japan in the hydrogen economy. This is big. ”
