Hyundai Rotem is setting up a hydrogen refueling infrastructure to create a hydrogen ecosystem.

Hyundai Rotem plans to launch a hydrogen gas facility, gas facility engineering, sales, and heating construction for the purpose of constructing hydrogen stations and selling hydrogen.

The hydrogen supply facility construction project is expected to proceed with the EPC method, which provides all of the engineering, procurement, and construction of the hydrogen charging station.

This means that Hyundai Rotem will take part in the Hyundai Motor Group’s ‘hydrogen industry’ ecosystem strategy centered on hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and fuel cells.

Hyundai Rotem plans to enter the hydrogen refueling station and hydrogen sales business based on hydrogen extraction and indications are that it will transfer technology from Japanese companies for hydrogen extraction.

An official of Hyundai Rotem said, “In Japan, the technology of extracting hydrogen from city gas has already been commercialized and is a stable and reliable technology.”
