In order to be able to buy five company buses that run on hydrogen, the municipality of Noordenveld has received a subsidy of 250,000 euros from the province. These buses are used by municipal employees who are responsible for the maintenance of the public space.
With these buses, among other things, Noordenveld wants to meet its ambition to be the most sustainable municipality in Drenthe by 2030. An additional advantage is that these buses can pull heavy trailers.

By making it visible on the outside that the vehicles run on hydrogen, the municipality and province want to stimulate the development of hydrogen. “We continue to focus on hydrogen and want to make the developments in hydrogen mobility visible by supporting initiatives such as those of the municipality of Noordenveld,” said deputy Tjisse Stelpstra.
