Norwegian Hydrogen on Cyan Energy station

Ålesund, Norway– Norwegian Hydrogen has signed a contract with Cyan Energy for the supply of green hydrogen to Cyan Energy’s newly developed hydrogen-based charging stations.

Hellesylt Hydrogen Hub, opening production of green hydrogen this summer as one of the first green hydrogen plants in Norway, utilizes renewable energy sources to produce green hydrogen. The hydrogen supplied to Cyan Energy will be used to power their innovative charging stations, which offer efficient and rapid charging solutions for electric vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks.

“We are excited and very happy that Cyan Energy chose to go with us for the provision of green hydrogen,” says Jens Berge, CEO of Norwegian Hydrogen. “Collaborating with other frontrunners in the energy transition is important to us, and we are proud to support Cyan Energy’s vision of a cleaner, greener future for transportation in our region and beyond.”

By utilizing locally produced green hydrogen from Norwegian Hydrogen, these stations will not only provide reliable and rapid charging but also contribute to reducing the carbon footprint from road transport.

“This partnership is a testament to the progress we can achieve through collaboration and innovation,” says Bjørn Bjerke, CEO of Cyan Energy. “Norwegian Hydrogen’s commitment to the energy transition aligns perfectly with our goals, and together, we make it possible to achieve a more sustainable future.”

Hellesylt Hydrogen Hub will begin supplying hydrogen to Cyan Energy’s station at Hareid, with plans to expand distribution as additional stations are developed across Norway and internationally.

Simen Skaare Eriksen, CCO of Norwegian Hydrogen, added: “This is a good illustration of how we address the full breadth of the hydrogen market, with contracted deliveries to the maritime sector, industry, and technology applications, in addition to Vireon’s hydrogen refueling stations for heavy-duty road transport.”
