The automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler has entered into an agreement with Swedish start-up company H2greensteel to purchase 100,000 tons of the virtually CO2-free steel, which is produced using hydrogen, on an annual basis with effect from 2025.

  • In the past few months, Colruyt Group has been testing a 27-tonne “range extender” electric truck with hydrogen in Belgium, after having tested a 44-tonne hydrogen truck earlier this year.

The group will now also test this 27-tonne truck for a month in France. This truck was developed by the VDL Groep in Eindhoven, and the test is part of the European Interreg North-West Europe H2-Share demonstration project.

Vattenfall, SAS, Shell and LanzaTech will jointly research in Sweden the production of the world’s first synthetic sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) with the LanzaJetTM “Alcohol to Jet” technology. The synthetic SAF is not produced using fossil raw materials, but with the help of fossil-free electricity and carbon dioxide recovered from district heating.
