GE’s Power Conversion business and Nedstack, a leading fuel cell manufacturer, are collaborating on developing hydrogen fuel cell systems for powering zero-emission cruise vessels.

This partnership brings together GE’s recognized expertise in cruise electrical power and propulsion solutions plus system integration capability, with Nedstack’s extensive experience in megawatt-scale hydrogen fuel cell technology. The result will be highly efficient fuel cell solutions that enable a zero-emission cruise industry.

On March 20th, the  Snowman Group unveiled its plans to invest CNY4.55 billion (USD 678.7 million) over the next eight years to produce fuel cell-powered engines and other key parts and components in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing.

At the recent “Green Hydrogen: Mobility & Industry” breakfast meeting, Stéphane Arnoux, of Engie Cofely and Clément Delisle of AREC announced that the first hydrogen production and distribution plant would be opened in the Toulouse region for 2020 on-site at the Blagnac Airport.

On Wednesday, March 20, the “Haus der Industrie” in Vienna hosted the kick-off event to develop a hydrogen strategy. This strategy is being developed by the Federal Ministry of Sustainability and Tourism (BMNT) with the participation of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Technology (BMVIT) in close cooperation with science, industry and industry by the end of this year. 

Introduction of Hydrogen-Electric Mobility in Switzerland Picks Up Speed

Only 10 months after founding, the H2 Mobility Switzerland Association announces the next new member. With Galliker Transport & Logistics, another heavyweight of mobility takes to hydrogen as the driving energy of the future – a future that is quickly approaching. The first of 1’000 (!) Hyundai hydrogen-electric commercial vehicles should be seen on Swiss roads as early as the end of 2019.

An evaluation of the LBST Power-to-Gas (PtG) database shows that PtG-technology is advancing towards maturity and can increasingly be found in commercial applications. More than 50 PtG plants with a total electric capacity of more than 55 MW are in operation or planned throughout Germany. Further large projects in the three-digit MW range have already been announced.
