HYPOS consortium launches research platform for the storage of green hydrogen

As part of the research initiative HYPOS, a pilot project for the underground storage of hydrogen in Central Germany will start on May 1, 2019. The aim of the “H2 Research Cavern” project is the development and regulatory approval of a research platform for hydrogen storage in a salt cavern.

Since April 26, 2019 the hydrogen stations at Rheda-Wiedenbrück and Siegen are in trial operation mode. Trial operation is a standard procedure at all stations for four to six weeks.

The stations are being made available but are being stress tested by customers and H2 Hydrogen Mobility is looking to these customers for feedback.
