Fuel Cells Works, Plagazi and Quantron AG Partner for Hydrogen-Powered Truck Deployment in Europe

The agreement signifies a long-term commitment to a collaboration between Plagazi and Quantron with the primary objective being to enable zero-emission road transportation through the deployment of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in Europe.

Furthermore, Plagazi will join Quantron’s Clear Transportation Alliance as a green hydrogen supplier to hydrogen-electric vehicles operated by Quantron.

Quantron AG is a leading provider of emission-free transport solutions for passenger and freight transport, and an early mover in introducing the latest generation of hydrogen trucks to the European market. Their specialization centres around the development of e-commercial vehicles both separately and as-a-service, as well as the retrofitting and customization of used and existing vehicles into electrified vehicles, and their commercial range spans from buses for public transport, passenger vans, to heavy duty transport trucks.

With the support of Plagazi as a green hydrogen supplier, the aim of the cooperation agreement is to deploy the first 100 Quantron trucks in Europe by 2026. The modularity of Plagazi’s technology will allow for the building of hydrogen infrastructures along logistic and transportation routes, enabling locally produced hydrogen which prevents the obstacles and costs associated with storing and transportation of the fuel.

“Fuel cell drive is the decisive technology for decarbonizing the transport sector in heavy-duty transport over long distances. To achieve this, however, a filling station network must also ensure a reliable supply of hydrogen. With Plagazi, we have found a partner who supports us in establishing a decentralized infrastructure for green hydrogen for our sustainable mobility concepts in Europe.” – Michael Perschke, CEO Quantron AG.

“Establishing a strategic cooperation agreement with a leading and forward-thinking mobility developer such as Quantron creates a very interesting and promising outlook on the future of sustainable, zero-emission road transport in Europe as well and its synergy with waste-to-hydrogen as a hydrogen-supplying technology. We believe that our technology caters excellently to the location flexible requirements of sustainable mobility, and it is exciting to see that Quantron shares that sentiment. We very much look forward to working with them.” – Torsten Granberg, CEO Plagazi AB (publ).
