Today we’re hitting the road, leaving our base in Puchheim and heading to Berlin. The reason? We’re showing off one of our new products at the prestigious InnoTrans fair in Berlin, at the booth of our co-operation partner DB Bahnbau Gruppe. The exhibition is a global trade fair for innovations transport technology, which attracted 133,595 visitors from 146 different countries in 2014. So, needless to say, we’re pretty excited about the amount of people we’ll be speaking to about our hydrogen fuel cell solutions.

The product we’re proud to be exhibiting at InnoTrans is an Outdoor Emergency Power Supply System, which we developed in conjunction with our partner, DB Bahnbau Gruppe. The system has numerous applications, but its primary function is to act as a backup power system in the event of a power failure. The system is designed to kick into action immediately after a power failure is detected. In theory, the fact that the original power system has failed should not be noticeable; the transition is seamless.  This kind of system is, of course, nothing new. The innovation we have brought to it is that we’ve made it completely eco-friendly, using hydrogen fuel cells which are a 100% clean energy source.

This is of particular use to any business who cannot afford to have their systems down for even one second. So a hospital, or a web server would certainly require an emergency power supply system. But, considering that InnoTrans is a transport innovation fair, we’d like to focus on the potential uses for transport companies.

In the modern world, many of us rely on public transport to get around in our day to day lives. Whether it’s by land, air, or even sea, any disruption can significantly annoy customers, and may cause them to consider alternative modes of transport in future. Therefore, ensuring that power systems of transport networks don’t go down is of paramount importance.

Consider as well issues of pollution, which are all too common in large cities where public transport networks are commonplace. Our emergency backup system has the benefit of being zero emissions, which helps to make transport systems cleaner.

These two benefits – the potential applications for transport systems, which are carried out in a clean way – are the reason why we’re so proud to be showing off our system at InnoTrans.

If you’re going to be at InnoTrans, which runs from the 20th-23rd, make sure you come and find us to say hello. We’ll be more than happy to tell you more about our innovation, which we hope will play a part in the green revolution of transport in the coming decades.
