On October 12, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov visited the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation FSUE “NAMI”, where he examined the production facilities and talked with the staff of the institute. The average age of employees has decreased by 20 years over the past five years (from 60 to 40 years).
The Deputy Prime Minister’s visit began with a visit to the Factory of Experimental Structures, where he was shown how prototyping of injection mold tooling takes place, was shown the engine assembly area and the silicone mold casting area, and also demonstrated a method of manufacturing small-scale plastic products for the interior and exterior of a car. During his visit to NAMI, the Deputy Prime Minister examined the pilot production of car prototypes and the Design Center, and also talked with the team of engineers and designers of the institute.
During the visit, Yuri Borisov was told about promising technologies that the Institute’s specialists are currently working on. FSUE “NAMI”, together with Rosatom, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and Gazprom, is developing a strategy for the development of hydrogen fuel vehicles, within the framework of which a line of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will be developed.
FSUE “NAMI” is a leading scientific organization of mechanical engineering, which creates fundamentally new types of cars, engines and their components with advanced technical solutions that meet the promising technical level. More than 3,000 highly qualified specialists work here in the design, creation and testing of any vehicles – from cars to tractors. Of these, 65% are researchers and engineers, 139 are employees with a scientific degree.
The Institute’s developments have become part of the history of all major domestic automobile companies. Now FSUE “NAMI” works in cooperation with the world’s leading engineering centers. The key modern project of the company is the AURUS car line, which is developed and produced at the facilities of NAMI.
