Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) Signs Agreement to Purchase Hydrogen Fuel Cell Buses

Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and  Foshan Feichi Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd of China recently entered into a sales and purchase agreement for the purchase of hydrogen fuel cell buses.

Sarawak wants to become one of the first regions in Malaysia to use non-polluting and enviromentally friendly hydrorgen fuel cell buses.

SEDC General Manager Datuk Soedirman Aini said  “It is another memorable milestone for SEDC,” he said, adding the use of the hydrogen cell buses was in line with the implementation of the proposed green and environmentally-friendly public transportation in Sarawak as envisioned by Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The first buses are expected to begin regulare service in Kuching city starting in early 2019.
