With 83 hydrogen cars in Denmark and in order to increase this number of fuel cell cars on the road, The Danish Road Directorate has just opened applications for funding to support the spread of hydrogen cars and other fuel cell vehicles in Denmark.
The funding is worth ten million DKK, and it can be sought by both private companies and public authorities.
"The money will be used for projects that will improve the conditions for hydrogen cars or other fuel cell vehicles," says head of department Kasper Grøndahl Rosenstand from the Road Directorate. "For example, it may be support for funding for hydrogen fueling stations for fuel cell cars or the purchase of taxis that run on hydrogen - but other support purposes may also be considered."
The funding has been devoted by a political majority consisting of the government, Social Democracy and Radical Left. It is a prerequisite for funding that individuals or companies finance at least 50 percent of the cost of the project for which they are seeking grants.
The application deadline for the pool is 28 February. Following this, the Road Directorate will draw up a recommendation for the transport and housing minister.
"It is our hope that the funds will be delivered during the spring," says Kasper Grøndahl Rosenstand.
