During the Hydrogen Challenge on 29th and 30th of September, the 6 teams will follow 24 hours a day. An app can see where the teams are. In the meantime, the teams are available 10 times by phone for questions and tips.
In those 24 hours, participants explore the possibilities and limitations of driving on hydrogen. Organizers E-xpeditie.nl and HydrogenWerkt.nl want to boost hydrogen consumption by increasing the Hydrogen Challenge by increasing both the number of users and the number of hydrogen stations in the Netherlands. The challenge is starting at A1 Bedrijvenpark Deventer.
The Hydrogen Challenge starts at 29:00 at Truckpoint Deventer at the A1 Enterprise Park Deventer.
The start is as in the 24-hour Le Mans Rally: after the start shot the drivers run to their car. The award ceremony is the 30th at 15.00, also at Truckpoint. At the start there is also the Forze Delft race team with the Forze VII, the newest hydrogen electric race car. The high-tech hydrogen race team of TU Delft is engaged in the development of hydrogen-powered race cars.
"Every form of innovation that contributes to energy transition is worth exploring," says Holder Holder Frits Rorink of the municipality of Deventer. "The A1 Business Park is the place to give these initiatives a chance. As part of the Cleantech Region we work here at one of Holland's greenest business parks. There is no gas connection and we use 'own' wind turbines. We will also have fuel stations for later. "
The teams are online for 24 hours. On a map you can see live where the different teams are at any moment in Europe.
