French company HysetCo has inaugurated the largest hydrogen station in Europe at Porte de Saint Cloud in Paris.
Beginning in June 2022, the station will supply cars and heavy goods vehicles with hydrogen fuel. Initially, the station will be used internally, primarily to fuel the hydrogen taxis of HysetCo co-founder, Step Taxis. The station required a 15 million euro investment, partly financed by the state, which supports the hydrogen sector.
The station is not just a hydrogen station, but also includes its own electrolyzer, which separates water into oxygen and hydrogen, and is capable of producing up to one ton of hydrogen per day.

The station has six pumps available, which should be sufficient given the speed of filling up with hydrogen and the limited fleet of vehicles using hydrogen as fuel. Almost all hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will be able to use it. According to HysetCo, the station must be able to perform 400 fill-ups per day.
HysetCo was created by Air Liquide, Toyota, the investment company Kouros, the energy efficiency services company Idex and taxi company Step. The start-up has raised 80 million euros in funds at the beginning of 2021 and attracted the attention of major players in the energy industry, such as TotalEnergies which owns 20% of HysetCo.
France is investing more than 7 billion euros in hydrogen by 2030, under the guidance of former Minister Djebarri, who worked for Hopium, a player in the hydrogen sector. This investment should allow for the installation of more than 10 hydrogen stations quickly in the Ile de France region and other territories.
