Ene.field partner Vaillant has provided the historical Logherberhaus Hotel with a fuel cell. The listed Lohgerberhaus in the centre of Balve is a slate-clad half-timbered house dating back to 1789. Since 1986, the building was at first threatened with demolition, but then extensively restored in several phases. Today, under the name “Aparthotel Mammoth”, it houses five apartments and a function room. 2014 the Lohgerberhaus was energetically renovated. In the  context of the ene.field field trials, the old gas boilers were replaced by an innovative solid oxide fuel cell by Vaillant to investigate the practicality of the new technology.
