World’s First Hydrogen Fuel Cell Tram Begins Commercial Operation in China

 State-run Xinhua news agency reported on Friday that on Thursday Oct. 17, 2017 the world’s first hydrogen tram began commercial operations operations in Tangshan, north China's Hebei Province,

The hydrogen-powered tram was made by China Railway Rolling Corporation (CRRC) Tangshan Co., Ltd. and will operates on a 136-year-old railway line in Tangshan City, one of China’s earliest industrial cities, and links several of its industrial heritage sites.

The tram will be non-polluting and its only emission will be water. It can be refilled with hydrogen in 15 minutes and  has a range of 40 km at a maximum speed of 70 km per hour.
