In order to achieve its goal of becoming one of the top three green energy companies in Turkey, Rönesans Enerji is continuing its investments at a rapid pace and has in parallel launched its Green Finance Framework, a pioneering initiative in the sector that meets the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye's criteria for green debt.

Rönesans Enerji, a joint venture between Rönesans Holding and TotalEnergies, has increased its investments. By using the Green Finance Framework, the company gained easier access to green financing instruments that support renewable energy. The company aims to realize approximately 7 to 10 percent of the green energy investments targeted in Turkey's National Energy Plan.

The preparation and publication of Rönesans Enerjis Green Finance Framework, which is also the first of its kind for Rönesans Holding companies, received support from ING Group, which acted as sustainability advisor. The framework is guided by the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) Green Bond Principles (GBP), the Loan Market Association (LMA) Green Loan Principles (GLP), the Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA), the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA) Green Bond Principles (GBP), the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye (CMB) Green Debt Instruments, Sustainable Debt Instruments, Green Lease Certificates and Sustainable Lease Certificates Guidelines. This conformity ensures applicability in both domestic and international green finance instruments. The Rönesans Enerji Green Finance Framework is one of the first frameworks to incorporate the CMB Guidelines for Green Debt Instruments, Sustainable Debt Instruments, Green Lease Certificates and Sustainable Lease Certificates and thus contribute to their recognition.

With its numerous compliance criteria, the Green Finance Framework is one of the most comprehensive frameworks in the field of energy production in Turkey. In addition to general renewable energy sources such as hydro, wind and solar energy, the framework also covers other renewable energy sources such as bioenergy and geothermal energy, as well as energy storage systems. Green hydrogen production and hydrogen storage technologies have been included in the scope of the Green Finance Framework to enable strategic preparation for the future. This makes the Green Finance Framework one of the first frameworks in Turkey to cover hydrogen technologies. All technologies and criteria of the Green Finance Framework have been evaluated by ISS Corporate Solutions as a Second Party Opinion (SPO) and positively assessed as being in compliance with the relevant standards.

EASIER ACCESS TO GREEN FINANCE

Rönesans Holding Chairman of the Board İpek Ilıcak Kayaalp stated that Rönesans Enerji has achieved a groundbreaking milestone in the Turkish energy sector with its Green Finance Framework. She highlighted that the Green Finance Framework is one of the first green finance frameworks and added: " We are committed to creating a better and more sustainable future. She also highlighted that one of Rönesans Holding's greatest strengths is its ability to enter into foreign partnerships and secure financing: " We actively cooperate with 40 different international banks worldwide to finance our investments on favorable terms. GOAL TO BECOME ONE OF THE TOP 3 GREEN ENERGY COMPANIES IN TURKEY

Emre Hatem, Board Member of Rönesans Holding and President of the Energy Group, stated that with the published Green Finance Framework, Rönesans Enerji is confidently on track to realize its goal of becoming one of the top three green energy companies in Turkey. The Green Finance Framework is a comprehensive set of rules designed to guide financial investments in projects that promote environmental sustainability. It defines the criteria and standards required for investments to be considered "green". It is in line with recognised guidelines such as the Green Bond Principles and the EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Economic Activities. It focuses on specific environmental objectives such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing resource efficiency and promoting sustainable development.
