JOHN'S, NL-- EverWind Fuels ("EverWind"), Canada's leading major green hydrogen developer, has received notification from the government of Newfoundland andLabrador that it has successfully entered the final phase of evaluation for Kronland leasing to develop its $8 billion green fuel project on the Burin Peninsula Shortlisted on 6 July 2023 by the Honorable Andrew Parsons, Secretary of State for Innovation, Energy and Technology issued by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

EverWind CEO and Founder Trent Vichie welcomed the news. “We are delighted to have been selected and thank the Newfoundland and Labrador Government for their efforts and diligence in achieving another important milestone in the province's burgeoning green energy industry. Over the past year, we have advanced pre-FEED engineering, acquired strategic private land and have been collecting environmental data since November 2022 , making our Burin Peninsula project one of the most advanced in the province."

Following its successful shortlisting, EverWind also announces the launch of its Meteorological Program ("MET"), which aims to deploy 6 MET towers on the Burin Peninsula in the coming months critical to project development and funding."We are excited to reach this important milestone in the development of our project. With our provincial permits, we aim to have all 6 towers completed by early this fall and should be able to deliver real-time "To collect wind data on the first tower. This will be the largest MET tower campaign in all of Atlantic Canada," Vichie said.

EverWind has received significant community support for this campaign. “EverWind continues to work with the communities across the Burin Peninsula and share detailed information on its MET tower program. It has the full support of the Burin Peninsula Energy Board and the Peninsula communities to proceed. We are excited about this important step in this transformational project for our region," said Brian Keating , Chair of the Burin Peninsula Energy Board.

EverWinds Nova Scotia Project

The first phase has received an environmental impact assessment and is designed to produce approximately 240,000 tons of green ammonia per year by 2025. By 2026, the second phase is expected to produce 1.5 million tons per year. The next phase of our Nova Scotia project will generate green energy through an additional 2+ GW wind farm currently under development, expected to be the largest in North America.
