ABC Cleantech and the Government of Karnataka have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of a 5 GW green hydrogen and ammonia plant worth $6 billion.
The plant will have the capacity to create 0.2 million tons of green hydrogen and 1 million tons of green ammonia each year with its 5 GW of renewable energy projects.
Approximately 5,000 jobs will be generated by the manufacturing operation over a ten-year period.
The joint venture platform ABC Renewables has been established by Axis Energy and Canadian asset management company Brookfield. There are currently more than 2 GW of projects in various phases of completion for this JV, which recently completed a 445 MWp solar power plant in Rajasthan in record time.
