NEW DELHI, India – KKR, a leading global investment firm, and Hero Future Energies (“HFE” or the “Company”), the renewable energy arm of the Hero Group, today announced the signing of definitive agreements under which KKR and the Hero Group will invest $450 million in the Company. This investment will position HFE for continued growth and support its efforts to expand its renewable energy capacity and capabilities across technologies such as solar, wind, battery storage, and green hydrogen, and into new markets over time. Through its range of solutions, HFE will also look to support companies in their efforts to decarbonize and transition towards sustainable energy sources to achieve their net zero emission goals.

ABU DHABI, UAE — President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt witnessed the signing of an agreement between Masdar, one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy companies, along with its Infinity Power joint venture with Infinity, Egypt’s main renewable energy developer, and Hassan Allam Utilities, to develop a 10-gigawatt (GW) onshore wind project in Egypt – one of the largest wind farms in the world.

• The agreement signifies a major win for the future of the MENA region as a green hydrogen hub, regional cooperation, and Israeli-Moroccan relations.

Their splitting process is assisted by solar energy and lowers the amount of the invested electrical energy needed to break the chemical bonds in the water molecule to generate hydrogen and oxygen.

SHARM EL-SHEIKH – Today, Francesco La Camera, the Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and Gerd Müller, the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) have signed a joint declaration on advancing sustainable energy through the fundamental role of green hydrogen.

Egyptian environmental and waste management company Green Planet for Sustainable Environmental Solutions signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with US-based H2-Industries to provide the necessary feedstock comprising organic and non-recyclable plastic waste for the new Waste-to-Hydrogen plant at East Port Said/ Suez Canal Economic Zone, Egypt.
