First Solaris Fuel Cell Bus Delivered to RVK

  • In March 2020, the order for 15 hydrogen-powered fuel cell hybrid buses was placed with Solaris Bus & Coach SA.
  • A first Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen has now been delivered. It is now being tested initially at the RVK branch in Wermelskirchen in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis.

As part of the invitation to tender in 2020, the contract for the bus was awarded to Solaris Bus & Coach. Thus, for the first time, a new manufacturer is adding to the fleet of hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles from Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK), which now comprises 37 buses.

HyPSTER is the first underground green hydrogen storage project in a salt cavity supported by the European Union. The demonstrator will be set up in France (in Ain). The project with a total budget of 13 million euros has just obtained a subsidy from the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH 2 JU) of 5 million euros.

HZB and Humboldt University Agree to Set Up a Catalysis Laboratory

Berlin–The Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU) have signed a cooperation agreement with the aim of establishing a joint research laboratory for catalysis in the HU’s IRIS research building in Adlershof. The IRIS research building offers optimal conditions for the research and development of complex material systems.
