Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (PNWH2) is a public-private partnership, non-profit organization registered with the State of Washington to coordinate regional efforts toward clean hydrogen deployment. PNWH2 is requesting information (View RFI) on potential projects to support a bid for U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Hydrogen Hubs (H2Hubs) funding.

  • Siemens Mobility is building seven two-car Mireo Plus H trains powered by fuel cells for Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn (NEB).
  • Switching from diesel to hydrogen on the Heidekrautbahn will reduce annual CO₂ emissions by around three million kilos and save 1.1 million liters of diesel.
  • For Siemens Mobility the first order for a fleet of trains based on hydrogen technology.
  • The hydrogen fleet will be delivered in the fall of 2024. The trains are planned to operate on the Heidekrautbahn network (RB27) beginning in December 2024.
  • The order placed with Siemens Mobility also includes a service and spare parts supply agreement (TSSSA) covering the entire term of the transport contract.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) proposes to build an artificial island dedicated to large-scale production of green hydrogen from offshore wind – called “BrintØ” (in English: “Hydrogen Island”) – in the Danish part of the North Sea. The island is expected to be able to supply an unprecedented amount of green hydrogen by 2030 and will thus be a crucial step in securing Europe’s future green energy supply.
