The National Academy of Engineering of Korea elected and announced the '15th Industrial Technology Achievement in 2018' which led the Korean industry this year.
The Engineering Academy, composed of 1,100 engineering graduates and industry leaders, publishes the 'Industrial Technical Performance Report' annually since 2006 to share the latest technology and industry trends and to inform the public of the importance of industrial technology.
Selection criteria were the creativity and uniqueness of the technology, the market contribution of the employed product, and the social impact and contribution.
The Hyundai Nexo, the first hydrogen-powered vehicle in Korea, was chosen for the award as it demonstrated the world’s longest-range battery. It also achieved world-class fuel cell system efficiency by improving performance of fuel cell stack, high efficiency of operating device parts and optimization of fuel cell system control technology.
