Fuel Cells Works, ACWA Power Signs MOU With Pupuk Indonesia for Large-Scale Green Hydrogen Project

Saudi Arabian utility company ACWA Power has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pupuk Indonesia, a state-owned fertilizer company, to develop a massive green hydrogen project in Indonesia.

The project will be located in the industrial area of Cilegon in Banten province and is expected to have a production capacity of 5 gigawatts of green hydrogen per year. This will make it one of the largest green hydrogen projects in the world.

Green hydrogen is produced through the electrolysis of water using renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. It is considered a clean and sustainable alternative to fossil fuels and can be used in a wide range of industries.

The MOU marks ACWA Power’s entry into the Indonesian market and its first green hydrogen project in the country. The company has been actively expanding its portfolio of renewable energy projects around the world, including solar and wind power plants.
