Albert Weber, a world-class manufacturing leader, has made an invigorating move by acquiring a stake in the innovative hydrogen technology company, CellForm Holding GmbH. The transaction signifies a major step forward in Albert Weber’s pursuit of achieving zero emissions by 2040.

CellForm, renowned for its high-performing metallic bipolar plates, serves as a key driver of a sustainable energy industry through hydrogen technology. The strategic acquisition enables both companies to combine resources and competencies, unlocking a new realm of opportunities in the hydrogen sector.

Albert Weber and CellForm plan to inject significant funding over the coming years into establishing mass production of bipolar plates, a pivotal component in fuel cell stacks. CellForm’s ambitious roadmap envisions becoming a leading supplier of bipolar plates and making a notable contribution to the energy transition. By 2030, the company aspires to reach revenues in the high nine-figure range and expand its workforce significantly.

The partnership underscores Albert Weber’s commitment to diversifying its business operations, whilst CellForm can leverage an experienced partner to scale its unique technology in industrialization and mass production. The shared goal is to stimulate the progress of hydrogen technology not just in Germany, but globally.

The CEO of CellForm, Simon Brugger, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “CellForm combines start-up spirit with tradition and is the disruptor of the industry in terms of technical and economic efficiency, thanks to innovative manufacturing approaches for the key component of hydrogen technology. With Weber, we have found the perfect partner to scale our technology.”

This strategic acquisition follows CellForm’s accolades, including the 2022 “Energy Globe Award Germany” for its innovative manufacturing process of metallic bipolar plates for fuel cell vehicles and electrolysis, and the “VR-InnovationsPreis Mittelstand,” a prestigious innovation award for medium-sized businesses.

The alliance between Albert Weber and CellForm heralds a brighter, more sustainable future, accelerating the journey towards a carbon-neutral global technology and a greener world.
