A hydrogen filling station that has started operations.Â
Lijun Jiang, vice president of the China Renewable Energy Society, spoke at the SNEC 8th (2023) International Energy Storage Technology, Equipment and Applications (Shanghai) Conference on October 31. In his greetings, he revealed that more than 400 hydrogen stations have already been completed in China, the largest number in the world, and 280 have started operations.
According to Mr. Chiang, China already has more than 13,000 fuel cell vehicles (FCVs), ranking third in the world. Of these, the number of commercial FCVs it owns is the highest in the world. The installed capacity of green hydrogen projects will exceed 800 MW in 2022, accounting for 33% of the world’s capacity. More than 60 green hydrogen projects have been announced across the country, with plans to start operations around 2025, and China’s annual green hydrogen production capacity is expected to reach 600,000 tons.
