Washington, D.C.– Frank Wolak, President and CEO of the Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA), and German Galushсhenko, Minister of Energy of Ukraine, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a cooperative energy partnership to advance hydrogen energy.

The MoU was formally signed in Washington, DC, with members of the Ukrainian delegation accompanying Mr. Galushchenko including Yaroslav Demchenkov, Deputy Minister, Roman Andarak, Director General of the Directorate of Strategic Planning and European Integration and Volodymyr Muzyliov, First Secretary, U.S. Embassy of Ukraine.

The agreement underscores the importance of international cooperative efforts to promote sustainable hydrogen development and will focus on the exchange of best practices, technical knowledge and experiences, and fostering introductions and connections between US industry, policy makers, and other key stakeholders.

“This MoU between FCHEA and the Energy Ministry of Ukraine acknowledges the significant expertise within FCHEA and its membership,” says Wolak. “As the U.S. begins laying the critical foundation of building and increasing hydrogen supply, demand, and utilization with the Hydrogen Hubs and other large-scale projects, we want to ensure Ukraine has access to the best of U.S. industry and innovation as it addresses energy security, economic prosperity and environmental responsibility.”

“The development of the hydrogen industry is identified as one of the priorities in Ukraine’s Energy Strategy until 2050 and the signing of this memorandum unlocks additional opportunities to achieve our goals”, said Minister Galushchenko. “The hydrogen industry in the United States has considerable expertise and we are excited for the leadership role that FCHEA can play to foster connections and knowledge exchange among U.S. Industry and Ukraine.”
