Gensol Engineering and Matrix Gas Secure Incentives for Hydrogen Electrolyzer Production

Gensol Engineering Ltd, alongside Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd, has been selected for government incentives aimed at bolstering their joint electrolyzer production capabilities, targeting an annual output of 63 MW.

As pioneers in sustainable energy and green hydrogen infrastructure, Gensol Engineering Ltd and Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd have recently been awarded government incentives for their collaborative electrolyzer facility. This initiative is part of the Sustainable Hydrogen Innovation & Green Hydrogen Technologies (SIGHT) program, highlighting their commitment to advancing green hydrogen technologies.

This collaborative venture is poised to produce electrolyzers with a capacity of 63 MW each year, a significant milestone achieved in the inaugural round of the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme under the auspices of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

Ali Imran Naqvi, CEO of the EPC business at Gensol Engineering Ltd, emphasized the crucial role of green hydrogen in the global shift towards sustainable energy sources. “Green hydrogen is pivotal in the world’s transition to sustainable energy, and Gensol, leveraging this opportunity, aims to foster global partnerships, technological exchange, and innovation.” He added, “Together, we are set to catalyse the adoption of green hydrogen globally, marking a new era in energy sustainability.”

Chirag Kotecha, a whole-time director at Matrix Gas and Renewables Ltd, outlined the strategic importance of electrolyzer manufacturing. “Electrolyser manufacturing is a cornerstone of our strategic initiative, aligning seamlessly with our ambition for large-scale decarbonization through the deployment of green hydrogen production plants. This endeavour supports our commitment to engineering, procurement, commissioning, as well as build-own-operate models for our esteemed clientele,” he stated.

With common promoters backing both entities, Gensol Engineering and Matrix Gas & Renewables are poised to forge ahead in the green hydrogen sector, combining their expertise and resources for groundbreaking advancements.
