Fuel Cells Works, Haldor Topsøe Joins Hydrogen Denmark

It is with great pleasure that Hydrogen Denmark welcomes Haldor Topsøe in the group of members. The company will join from the 1st of February 2022.

One of Denmark’s largest green industrial companies, Haldor Topsøe, is now joining Hydrogen Denmark. The company has for many years developed and produced electrolysis systems and Power-to-X technologies, and is among the most ambitious and influential companies in the hydrogen and PtX industry, both in Denmark and worldwide. The director of Hydrogen Denmark, Tejs Laustsen Jensen, is therefore pleased that Haldor Topsøe has now joined Hydrogen Denmark, the main organization for hydrogen and PtX in Denmark.

“Haldor Topsøe is one of the key players in the Danish hydrogen industry, with technology that greatly helps to bind the value chain for renewable energy, hydrogen and PtX together, and contributes to realizing the enormous potential that Denmark has in the production of green hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels, and not least the underlying technology,” says Tejs Laustsen Jensen, director of Hydrogen Denmark.

Last year, Haldor Topsøe set up their specialized department for green hydrogen, and stated on that occasion that the ambition is to become one of the world-leading companies in the development of green hydrogen from electrolysis and other technologies that can accelerate the energy transition.

”Electrolysis, together with a number of Topsøe’s other technologies, are among the crucial areas if we are to have the transition from fossil energy to green fuels to success across sectors. At the same time, we in Denmark have a task in ensuring that we not only implement the technologies in connection with our wind resources, but also that the prerequisites are in place for us in Denmark to produce, develop and export the technology and the underlying industrial products We are very much looking forward to the cooperation with Haldor Topsøe and are convinced that it is a strengthening of the overall industry,” says Tejs Laustsen Jensen.

Haldor Topsøe is also looking forward to the upcoming cooperation, and says that joining Hydrogen Denmark must be seen as part of their expanded strategic work with the production of green hydrogen and PtX technologies: “We increasingly need innovative solutions if we are to aim to solve the global climate challenge. Green hydrogen, together with similar solutions in ammonia and methanol, can make a significant contribution to achieving our goals with both national and international ambitions in the climate area. We look forward to contributing to creating strong Danish solutions through our membership of Hydrogen Denmark,” says Poul Georg Moses, senior director, Haldor Topsøe.
