Topsoe Ammonia Technology to Boost Approtium’s Hydrogen Production in South Korea

  • Topsoe has signed an engineering agreement with Approtium to convert low-carbon ammonia into hydrogen using its H2RETAKE™ technology.
  • Approtium plans to build an ammonia cracking plant to produce 75,000 metric tons of low-carbon hydrogen annually.
  • The plant will be built in Ulsan, South Korea, and production is expected to start in 2027.

The North West Hydrogen Alliance (NWHA) has today published its manifesto for delivering a world leading hydrogen economy in the North West of England.

The document sets out a number of recommendations that the NWHA believes are essential for the UK to capitalise on the hydrogen opportunity – which it is estimated will create 100,000 jobs and £13bn of GVA in the UK by 2050.
